Fighting friction is about making parts run smoother and easier.
The engine is the first thing that may come to mind. Engine oil is the
subject, and we know that oil is essential for the engine to have a long life.
Ever since engines have been built oil was the lubricant of choice. It was a good choice too. It made parts slippery and cooled them too.
Oil really fights friction. But what if you want even slipperier oil? It is possible now. Synthetic oil is real oil but made better by technology.
Chemistry is the way synthetic oil is made. Chemistry is how old oil is made
better by taking out any bad molecules and putting in good ones.
I am not a chemist so I'll leave that to the companies that sell synthetic oil.
The real value is how long the synthetic oil lasts and how well they perform. Slipperier oil means there are lower friction losses in the engine. The engine gains horsepower and they run cooler too.
Not too many years ago there weren't too many bands available but now about every oil company has there brand of synthetic oil.
So pick your favorite oil brand and put it in your engine, transmission and rear end gear lube.
You will gain mileage and better part longevity. It's kinda' like a no-brainer.
